  • Digby County
    - The Salmon River Bridge located on Trunk 1 in the community of Salmon River, Digby County has an 18 tonne weight restriction in place. Vehicles over 18 tonnes shall use the following detour route: Salmon River Road - Exit 32 Hwy 101 - Exit 31 Hwy 101 - Meteghan Connector. Local TIR Base advising Emergency Services of the weight restriction.
    - The Salmon River Bridge will be reduced to one lane of traffic starting Monday September 28, 2015. The lane closure will be in place until repairs are completed at the bridge.
    Please be advised that:
    1. Spring Weight Restrictions are currently in effect until 12:01 a.m., April 25, 2016 in the following counties:
    - Yarmouth, Shelburne, Queens, Lunenburg, Digby, Annapolis, Kings, Halifax, Hants and southern Colchester
    that portion of Colchester County south of Highway 104 and bounded by the Folly River in the west and the Pictou County line in the east
    2. Spring Weight Restrictions are currently in effect until 12:01 a.m., May 2, 2016 in the following counties:
    - northern Colchester, Cumberland and Pictou
    that portion of Colchester County north of Highway 104 and bounded by the Cumberland County line in the north and west, the Pictou County line in the east and Folly River in the southeast
    3. Spring Weight Restrictions are currently in effect until 12:01 a.m., May 2, 2016 in the following counties:
    - Antigonish, Guysborough, Richmond, Inverness, Victoria and Cape Breton.
    Weather conditions will determine whether weight restrictions can be removed prior to the dates noted above.

    Douglas Road, Center Rawdon is open to local traffic only.
    HANTS COUNTY West Indian Road from Trunk 14 to Ess Road will be under construction from April 25th through to September 30th, this will involve stop and go traffic.
    The Blois Road is closed to all vehicles other than local traffic. Starting at the MacPhee Road past the houses on the Robinson Road, and the West Indian Road end.
    - Spencers Island Loop is closed due to damaged road surface and washouts.
    A portion of Greenville Road in Cumberland County is closed due to a culvert failure. The road is closed from Trunk 4 to Hunter Rd. Local traffic only. Detour in place via Hunter Rd.
    - Valley Rd is closed to through traffic between Canadian Springs East Mtn. Rd due to soft conditions.
    - Stewarts Road closed. Impassable Until Further Notice.
    - Jim Murdock Rd is closed between Mountain Rd and Grist Mill Rd due to washouts. Road impassable.
    - Lynn Rd is closed to all vehicles over 5 tons.
    - Gerrish Valley Rd. is closed to all vehicles over 5 tons.
    Auth. 404, Cloverville Road in Antigonish County is closed to traffic due to soft spots and rutting until conditions improve. Weather permitting 10 days. The closure is on a section between the Walsh Post Road and South Lakevale Road. There are no homes on this section and residents on other sections have alternate routes out.
  • GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Melford Bridge on Route 344 at Middle Melford is closed. A 2 lane detour bridge is in place until a permit bridge is built. The speed has been reduced to 60 kms and warning signs have been put in place.
    S Inverness:
    - The Gillis bridge just past Uisge Ban Falls provincial park is closed until further notice.
  • Cape Breton Highlands:
    - Work has begun on a road realignment at Corney Brook 15 km north of Cheticamp. Expect slow moving vehicles and minor delays. Speed limit has been reduced to 50 km/hr. Parks Canada apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.
    - Construction is underway to replace the bridge at Big Intervale on North Aspay river 15 km north of Pleasant Bay. Work is off the main road, expect minor delays. Parks Canada apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
    Aril 15,2016--
    Work has begun to carry out the rehabilitation of a 6.5km stretch of the Cabot Trail between French and MacKenzie Mountain. Expect delays between 10-20 minutes. Parks Canada apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause to the travelling public.
